Commission Vending Setup
From Apez
A guide by Chloe Alva (adapted and updated)
Commission vending is a great way for a new player, or starting business owner to make some L$. It's incredibly easy (and free) to set up a vendor at home, or in an inexpensive mall and turn a profit. This guide is a simple, picture filled step by step guide designed to show each step of setting up a commission vendor, selling some one else’s goods!
Go to any Apez ATM and register. Simply click the ATM, click "SignUp" in the menu. it will ask you to make a password on a channel.
Once done, go to www.apez.biz and sign in! once you sign in, click on Shop and then use the Apez products option in the side left menu.
Once there, choose the "deliver" button for the free vendor kit.
Once the item arrives, drop it from your inventory onto the ground, click it, and you will be given the free vendor package (as a folder in your inventory).
Look for it in your inventory (it should show up in the recent items tab.
Choose a vendor (they are named "Apez.iVend 2.2FL FP10" and such). Just grab the FP10 and drop it onto the ground. They are copy so don't be afraid of breaking it.
Once on the ground you can spin it to face you, and wait a moment. It will say that it is registering with the server - wait until it says "offline". At this point go back to apez.biz and click on the vend menu. From there, click on the vendors sub-menu. This will bring up a list of vendors.
Once the list is up, click on the little icon that looks like a pencil and paper, this lets you edit the vendor settings.
You'll see tons of options for the vendor. Don't be overwhelmed. Only 2 things on the vendor need be specified in our guide.
1. Name - Name the vendor something you can remember and that is indicative of the products in it. For instance if your vendor sells hair, name it "hair vendor 1" or something. This will help you in the long run if you have more than one vendor.
2. Collection - Under collection 1 enter search criteria. It is possible to search for specific items, items by type, or by commission percentage. In this guide I’m just going to search for my own goods (all of the steps of this guide were undertaken by my helpful android Uma). I entered "chloe alva" and hit find. Four collections were found. I picked the hair and hit update.
Now you wait (until the server downloads the product info to the vendor in-world).
This is true. (If you're impatient, you might use the vendor's "config" menu option - by touching "info" on the front panel to bring up the menu)
The little clock next to the vendor name on the vendors page indicates that the vendor is in line to update. The vendor in world will appear to do nothing.
While waiting this is a great time to look at the other stuff in the box. The texture files "iVend-versions-key-A-2.1" and "iVend-versions-key-B-2.1" show the various vendors available to you. Tn the full version vendors can be customized and retextured, but for now the free version works fine for our guide. Be patient, this could take several minutes if the server is busy.
Victory! the vendor works!
Any sales made will be deposited into your Apez.bank account (you'll notice the vendor pays "Apez Mann" when a sale occurs). The money can be withdrawn from an ATM in world. Settings can make it email you or IM you when sales are made. Place the vendor at your home, business, or rent a mall spot! You can also search through the lease section of the site to find inexpensive leases.
To recap:
1. Register at an ATM terminal
2. Go to the site or apez store and buy the free kit (for nothing) unpack the free kit
3. Rezz your vendor some where you plan to sell things (mall, home, your shop, friends shop etc.)
4. Go to website, go to vendor. Pick a name for the vendor, search for a collection and choose one.
5. Wait for it to update.
6. Position the vendor however you like.
